Leo was a talented artist and had ambitions of studying architecture as a young man. He became a physician, but always had an eye for beautiful art. In his later years he collected prints by the "old masters" as well as works by contemporary artists. Many of his collected works are in the gallery.
Leo's father was a Rabbi and gardening teacher who gave Leo a lifelong love for vegetable and flower gardens. Leo tended a large and wonderful garden at the home he shared with his wife and daughter from 1926 to 1939 in Gotha, Germany.
The gallery is a small but significant gem in Columbia Missouri's North Village Arts District.
